I could not turn back the time for political change, but there is still time to save our heritage.

You must remember never to cease to act because you fear you may fail.

- Queen Liliuʻokalani to her adopted daughter, January 1917

THE KAHEA is a feature length documentary film about the daring truth of militarization and environmental crimes on one the most beautiful island chains of the world, HAWAII. It follows five local young adults as they journey across the Hawaiian Islands exposing the devastating effects of U.S. Colonization and Military Occupation throughout Hawaii and how it has affected the health of the land and its people. By highlighting the resilience, and powerful resistance taking place in Hawaii today, the film takes an intimate look at a generation faced with the task of creating a safe and healthy world for future generations.

THE KAHEA will help us understand this conflict by seeking the wisdom and solutions from elders, visionaries and scientists to our most urgent individual, local and planetary challenges. Our people are inheriting a planet in peril but the voices of Hawaii serve as a guided force for global and creative response.
