Description:

The Calling, a documentary film that will inspire us to heal ourselves and heal our planet.

The film will:

  • follow youth on a journey across the globe seeking wisdom and solutions from elders, visionaries and scientists to our most urgent individual and planetary challenges

  • bridge indigenous wisdom and technology and modern science and technology

  • engage youth with elders, scientists, community leaders, healers, activists, teachers, lawyers, farmers, artists, musicians and more

  • inspire youth to find their calling

  • spark a global movement to heal ourselves and heal our planet

The youth begin in the Hawaiian islands and travel across the globe to places including South Africa, Sápmi (Norway), Aotearoa (New Zealand), Australia, Guatemala, Native American Reservations and beyond.

Combining historical and verité footage, The Calling is a remarkable odyssey of healing and transformation. The stories told by the youth direct to the camera share their vulnerability, bravery and commitment to creating a healthy world. The film offers a holistic approach to problem solving as we bridge the gaps and foster relationships between elders and youth, between education and healing, and between indigeneity and science, while highlighting the myriad of possibilities available to heal ourselves and heal our planet.
